Our services

Asnew Blast Cleaning has offered professional blast cleaning and restoration services in the East of England for 30 years. From period brickwork and oak beams to marine hulls and agricultural machinery, we have the tools and the expertise to support with a wide range of projects.

Brick Cleaning

Brickwork is one of our core specialties at Asnew Blast Cleaning and Restoration. Over 30 years, we’ve restored a wide range of brick types, from Victorian stock brick to modern facing brick, using proven blast cleaning techniques tailored to each surface.

Our abrasive cleaning methods are carefully calibrated to lift decades of dirt, pollution and weathering without damaging the substrate. The result is brickwork restored to its original colour and texture, safely and efficiently.

Timber Restoration

At Asnew Blast Cleaning and Restoration, we restore oak beams and timber-framed buildings, bringing out the natural warmth, grain and colour that makes this material so distinctive.

We work with both new and established timbers. On fresh green oak, we remove water staining and surface marks to leave a clean, consistent finish. On older structures, we carefully strip back decades of pollution and grime to reveal the original tone and texture beneath.

Marine antifouling

Marine fouling and osmosis are two of the most damaging and stubborn problems a boat owner faces. At Asnew, we work on fibreglass, timber and steel hulls across leisure boats, narrowboats and commercial vessels, removing built-up antifouling and preparing hulls properly for recoating.

For fibreglass hulls with osmosis damage, we blast the hull to burst and expose all blisters, allowing the substrate to dry out fully before treatment. It is a more thorough approach than manual methods and gives the repair the best possible foundation.

Chemical cleaning

Where blast cleaning is not suitable, chemical cleaning offers an effective alternative for removing paint, coatings, and surface contamination. On rendered surfaces, we remove all traces of existing coatings and leave the surface ready for restabilising.

With 30 years of experience, we work on everything from house fronts and complete properties to cellars, basements, inglenook fireplaces and brick walls.

Plant and Machinery

We use grit blasting to prepare metal and steel surfaces for welding, repair or repainting, including providing the profile or key needed before applying paint or primer. We work to SA2.5 standard and will always discuss the required grade and finish with you before starting.

We work on structural steelwork, plant and machinery, agricultural equipment, lorry chassis, vehicles, boats, roller shutter doors, cast iron items and more.

Airless paint spraying

Airless spraying is up to four times faster than brush or roller application and leaves a consistently smooth finish across large surface areas that traditional methods simply cannot match. We use it across a wide range of substrates as a recoating solution following blast cleaning or chemical stripping.

We can also apply non-slip coatings to decks and floors, and work on RSJs, bridges, boats, vessels, and industrial tanks.
